Be welcomed & included
Expect to be welcomed & included. As you come in, you'll be greeted by one of our ushers and given a bulletin. There is always someone at our Welcome Counter before and after worship in case you have questions, want to fill out a welcome card, or would like some materials about our church or the Mennonite tradition.
We offer a nursery for younger children during worship, and we offer Formation (Sunday School) classes for 2-year-olds through adults during the school year.
Be accepted
Expect to be accepted. Wear whatever you like.
The dress code here is usually casual and not the plainclothes of the Amish and Old Order Mennonite. About half of our congregation grew up outside the Mennonite tradition so we work many different styles of singing and worshipping into our Sunday services.
Be challenged & encouraged
Expect to be challenged & encouraged. Our worship includes singing, scripture, and a thought-provoking sermon given by one of our pastors or a guest speaker.
We often include dramatic readings, skits, or storytelling, and we open up the floor during announcements & sharing for anyone present who wants to speak or ask for prayers.
Be empowered
Expect to be empowered. A big part of the Mennonite tradition is a focus on social justice and working within our local communities to promote understanding and peace.
Former and current members of our congregation have founded or started Hope Ministries, the St. Joseph County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Community for Peace and Non-Violence, the Granger location of Ten Thousand Villages, and Vesper Chorale. We encourage community within a variety of small groups and five larger Area Groups in Michiana.
