The Ministerial Leadership Team (MLT) is composed of the pastors and elders. Together, this group leads the congregation in its mission of learning, loving and living God's dream as Christ's body in South Bend. Each elder is responsible for one of the geographical area groups, which welcome new attenders, support persons in times of need, and provide a channel of communication. As a group, the elders provide leadership in calling, supporting and reviewing pastors. They assist in worship settings and assume pastoral oversight in the absence of pastors.

Elders are called to a three-year term and may serve no more than two consecutive terms. Each year, a selection committee made up of the congregational chair, the senior continuing elder(s), the chair of the trustees, and the pastor(s) receives nominations from the congregation for vacancies among the elders. The MLT meets regularly throughout the year to evaluate how the congregation can better carry out its mission and to support one another's continuing spiritual growth.
