Statement of Belief

About God:

We believe in one Eternal God:

Creator of the universe,

Jesus Christ, God's Son, and the Holy Spirit.

About Christ:

We believe in Jesus Christ,

Who is both God and human,

Who lived, died and rose again on this earth,

Who reconciles human creation to God through redemption.

About the Holy Spirit:

We believe in the Holy Spirit,

Who is God's voice within us,

Who is the source of empowerment and gift for our faith journey on the earth,

Who is interpreter, counselor, and guide in our present day.

About the Bible:

We believe the Bible

Is a primary guide to understanding God,

Is an account of the life and teaching of Jesus

Christ, and the history and practice of God's

people,

Is to be read and studied with the assistance of the

Holy Spirit for growth in faithful living.

About membership and baptism:

We believe

Church membership is an important voluntary statement of commitment to Christ's body, the church,

And that "believer's baptism" is practiced when an individual chooses intentionally to make a public commitment to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ and as a part of the local church body.

About the church community:

We believe persons in the church community

Possess gifts, whose value is more than the sum of all individual gifts,

Participate together in worship, fellowship, and service,

Need one another

For encouragement and growth,

For assistance and support,

For challenge and accountability.

About persons who are seeking:

We believe the church is

The appropriate context for people to reflect on their relationship with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, regardless of previous background,

A place where people confess sin,

A place where people receive forgiveness and experience transformation through Christ.

About the church in the world:

We believe as followers of Christ, by the grace of God,

We are to carry Christ's message to the world through our words, actions, and relationships,

And we are to be peacemakers in our homes, church, community, nation, and world.

About stewardship:

We believe

We are to care for God's creation through our actions and lifestyle,

And we are to share and use responsibly the time, property, and financial resources entrusted to us.
